Lex here. I'm writing this with no frills. Last night, The Ringside Report made it's debut here on RantEM, and I wanted to get my feelings out about the situation. When Lee and I left TWR, we left because we didn't feel like it was a good fit for us. Not that TWR was awful, there was just an obvious split, and we also knew we wouldn't be able to commit to a weekly show. At the time, I was building my own house and Lee had (and still has) a rough work schedule. Were there other factors? Sure there were, but I'm not going to get into that. Not because I think lowly of any of you or not because I'm trying to be dishonest, I just don't see how it would do any good. Even if I laid everything out on the table, it's just one of those things where "You had to be there behind the scenes." There's also no reason any of you should inherit our beefs. We have moved on long ago, and it was all for the best.
As for last night, all I can say is that it just "felt right." It was like returning home after a long vacation. The vacation had it's fun moments and it's frustrations, but you realize how comfortable home is. I'm not sure if I'm connecting with any of this, but basically it felt like we were back with family. Family that we don't despise and avoid like sickness. Admittedly, I was a bit nervous last night. I wanted us to put on a great show and make people forget the events of the past few weeks. I wanted to get back to having fun, and I think we did have a lot of fun last night. I had fun with the folks that showed up in the chat. I had fun with my co-host Lee. I had fun not worrying about whether or not something we said would piss off another show. But most of all, I had fun seeing people not resort to making fun of others in an insulting manner to try and get some laughs.
We've put in a lot of work on RantEM so far in a very little time frame. I say that to let you know that we are motivated to make this a place where you can come and have a good time. Some of you have been listening to The Rant for several years now. Some of you remember how fun it used to be to go into the Blogtalk Radio chat on a Tuesday and forget your worries for a few hours. I certainly remember that. I just want to let you know that RantEM will give you the opportunity to do that several times every week. We're building this place from the ground up. It's homegrown, and we are going to take the measures to keep it that way. To our new listeners, we hope to see you around the chat and Facebook group page often so that we can get to know you.
A lot has been said about Double A lately, but I just want to personally say that I've known Double A for about 7 years now, and he's never been a guy that I wouldn't trust 100%. He's a good dude and doesn't deserve some of the shit he's taken recently, regardless of what you hear or see. But again, I think everything has happened for the best. I believe in RantEM and the feeling so far has brought me back to better times. I hope everyone has a good time following us as we hangout and grow The Rant family. Last night's Ringside Report will be available to those who didn't catch the live broadcast later this evening. Thanks for reading my ramblings.
