rumor: ea and Microsoft to work together exclusively

Rumors have been circulating that Microsoft and EA have signed a deal to bring some of it's content exclusively to the next-gen XBOX system. Rumors began a few months back, but the idea was seen as something too farfetched by most, including myself. Now, after a report by Kotaku, it appears that EA developer Respawn Entertainment has been pegged to create a title exclusively for the next-gen XBOX and XBOX 360. Not too crazy, right? Well, it appears that EA and Microsoft's agreement may reach further than just that single title. Microsoft has been actively promoting Madden on their social media outlets. So what, right? Let's add in the fact that out of all the dates on the Madden Playbook reveal (a schedule of info to be released for Madden 25) there's a significant gap between May 20th and June 24th. XBOX's next-gen console reveal is on May 21st. We didn't see anything from EA at the PS4 announcment event. Could it be that EA had already signed a deal with Microsoft at that point in time? Could it be that we hear the first bit of news on the next-gen Madden on May 21st at Microsoft's event? Only time will really tell.

So, that begs the question: Would EA having some sort of exclusivity deal with Microsoft sway you to buy a next-gen XBOX over the PS4? If games like Madden, NHL, FIFA, Mass Effect, Dead Space, and other EA titles were only on XBOX, would that be incentive enough to choose Microsoft this coming generation? Would it piss you off and drive you the other way? Is this the way gaming is going in general? We want to hear from you! Sound off on the RantEM Facebook Page or Tweet us @RantEMRadio
